‘And now for something completely different …’ (October 29, 2007)

'New is easy - different is hard' as someone once said. Perhaps that's why Elephant Talk decided to take the hard way – different may not be easy but their music is distinctive in both style and delivery. This is singular music that will take you on diverse journeys.

Their music rewards each listen with something out of the ordinary. That's the beauty of Elephant Talk – the longer you listen the more you get. There's more than a dash of Ireland in there, cunningly mixed with some tantalising Eastern European styles (do I hear Hungarian, Romanian or Croatian dances or perhaps some Klezmer influence?). Elephant Talk expertly blend electric harp, flute and violin, folded with intriguing  'live' sampling and special effects that instantly catch your ear. But that's just the start – the more you listen the more you appreciate a finely woven tapestry of sound. Laid back, entranced and listening or foot tapping and grooving on the dance floor Elephant Talk takes you different places.

Elephant Talk is Jenny Crook (electric harp), Dorian Sutton (double bass) Jon Maybey (acoustic guitar, FX) Adrian Sykes (flutes, whistles, programming) and Aaron Catlow (electric violin and percussion).
